And yet another year comes to its end

Christmas sure was a pleasant break for me. It’s always nice to see the family, relatives and to gorge on food for a couple of days. But as soon as I got back home, I put myself on a diet. Being sick for such a long time put some fatty pounds on me and my lungs just don’t like it – and neither do I. Keeping oneself below 8% body fat isn’t just for looks, it’s more about your health and wellbeing.

Anyway, I’ve been back to the gym for about 16 days now, with a short break of five days during Christmas. Since my lungs can’t provide enough oxygen to get me through a full body workout or even an upper-body and lower-body split, I have to keep the volume pretty low by splitting it up further. And in doing so, I’ve choose to split the training sessions into the classic pushing-, pulling-, and quad dominant and hip dominant movements.

Usually I don’t train for more than two days in a row, but since the volume is low and it’s a three day split, I’ll keep it simple with three days on and one day off.

I guess that’s it for now. I just finished watching UFC 66 a few hours ago and I think I’ll enjoy Pride Otoki Matsuri (aka Shockwave) next - a perfect way to end 2006.

I’ll get back to writing more informative stuff in the blog during next year.

Until then, take care and a Happy New Year!
